2023 has been another very busy and exciting year of
bird photography! My two main
trips for the year were both at the end of the year and only 10 days apart!
First, I travelled to Patagonia, The Falkland Islands, South Georgia and
Antarctica. A pretty epic trip to the end of the world!
Afterwards, after a very brief few nights back in my own bed, I
headed back down to the southern hemisphere for a three week shoot in
Argentina. This was a trip I
have been really wanting to make for years and I was so excited to finally
get to explore these ecosystems. And Argentina did not disappoint! I had one
of my most productive 3-week trips ever!!
In addition to these two major shoots, I was also
able to have a fun week shooting in Northern Colombia, visited some new
sites in Brazil and did a bit of shooting around Vancouver Island and
It was a great year of spending time out in nature
and enjoying the birds. With several exciting trips planned for the nest
year 2024 promises to bring more of the same!
I hope you will enjoy this portfolio of images from 2023.
All the best!
COLOMBIA + LA GUAJIRA
My first trip of the year was to Colombia to lead my annual photo workshop down there. I had a week off between the two trips I led and I took advantage by visiting the Northern Colombia coast and also re-visited the Santa Marta region.
